Commentary
For the composition of this work, the composer uses percussion instruments made of different materials: leather drums, wood, metal and plastic.
This score is made up of three movements:
In the first movement, the main idea is the treatment of sound in space.
In the second, the generating idea is the timbre, the articulation and the different percussive “modes de jeux”, thanks to the use of different sticks and different ways of playing with the hands.
In the last movement, the listener will hear the use of a “rhythmic pattern” taken from Basque folklore, which will be used as a “common thread”. This third movement will increase its speed and will end up being a fragment of great virtuosity for the interpreter.
